- The shredding power of these machines originates from a 2 Hp continuous duty motor (most models) which allows for longer shred periods without cooling down. In order to provide slip free power to the cutting cylinders a steel chain connects the two components and provides maximum shredding capacity. Removing staples and paper clips are a thing of the past. Dahle shredders can easily accommodate these items without harming the machine and saving you time in the process.

- I am interested in a shredder that is heavy duty. will shred paper clips,staples and possibly continuous operation use. I have considered the 20396 but this may be over kill. is the 20814 a good choice.
- The Dahle 20814 Cross-Cut Shredder will do all of the specifications you listed. It can shred paper clips, staples, 50 sheets of paper per minute and does have a continuous motor. It has a 2hp motor, which is very strong and capable of shredding between 2,000 and 12,000 sheets of paper per day.
