TOYOHASHI, Aichi — A man who slashed a police officer with a paper cutter because he wanted his gun has been arrested, police said.
Toshinori Umezu, 39, unemployed of no fixed address, was arrested for attempted robbery.
Police said Umezu slashed a 33-year-old Aichi Prefectural Police assistant inspector with a paper cutter in Toyohashi just after 5 p.m. Sunday. Umezu allegedly had been screaming out for the policeman to give him his gun, but was overpowered by the lawman and arrested.

I want to know why the heck he took the blade off off the paper cutter? Seems like there are so many other weapons that he could have chose!
